WealthPlanner

What WealthPlanner is

Is WealthPlanner a financial advisor?

Short answer

No. WealthPlanner is an educational tool. It is not a registered investment adviser, broker-dealer or tax preparer. Its results are estimates based on the figures you enter and on the published rules each calculator models. They are not personalized financial advice.

What that means in practice

A calculator only knows what you tell it. It cannot see the rest of your finances, your health, your family or your plans. Each tool also simplifies tax law to model one decision clearly.

When to get professional help

Use WealthPlanner to understand a decision and to arrive with specific questions. Talk to a qualified professional before acting on decisions that are large or hard to reverse, such as:

  • Taking a pension as a lump sum instead of an annuity
  • A large Roth conversion
  • Dividing retirement accounts in a divorce
  • Inheriting a large IRA or estate
  • Moving abroad with US accounts
