What WealthPlanner is

What is WealthPlanner?

Short answer

WealthPlanner (wealthplanner.com) is a free website of 16 personal finance calculators and guides for US households and Americans living abroad. It covers retirement, Social Security, required minimum distributions, Roth conversions, inherited IRAs for non-resident heirs, early retirement, federal benefits and moving abroad. It turns a money question into a specific number and shows the rules behind it. It is also building a directory of fee-only advisory firms drawn from SEC public records.

What you can do on it

Each calculator answers one question, such as when you can retire, when to claim Social Security, how large your RMDs will be or what a non-resident heir pays on an inherited IRA. You do not need an account to see a result.

Guides explain the decision around each number. Every calculator links to a methodology page that lists its formulas, assumptions and sources.

What it is not

WealthPlanner is not a financial adviser, a bank, a brokerage or a tax preparer. It does not hold or manage money, does not connect to your accounts and does not sell financial products.
